Niigata Machinery Co. Ltd., a Japanese manufacturer of injection molding machines acquired by Haitian International in 2023, has announced a shift in its U.S. and Canadian operations. Starting March 1, 2025, Absolute Haitian, based in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, will take over the sales and service of Niigata machines across both countries. Absolute Haitian, which already represents Haitian in North America, also operates offices in Worcester, Massachusetts, and Parma, Ohio.
Niigata Machinery, founded in 2022, acquired the injection molding division of Niigata Machine Techno Co. Ltd. the following year, backed by Haitian International’s financial support. This transition marks a significant expansion of Absolute Haitian’s product portfolio, enabling it to offer a wider range of both horizontal and vertical injection molding machines. The company also emphasized that customers would benefit from a more streamlined supplier relationship and an enhanced support system.
The shift in operations coincides with the construction of new production facilities for Niigata in Momoyama, Japan. The new plant will consolidate key functions such as research, product development, engineering, manufacturing, and customer support. This facility will manufacture the full line of standard Niigata injection molding machines, including both horizontal and vertical electric models.
Niigata, founded in 1895, originally specialized in machine tools before branching out into injection molding machinery in 1963 through a partnership with German company Stube. In 1984, Niigata launched its first all-electric injection molding machine. In 2017, Niigata Machine Techno USA was established, and in 2019, Elk Grove Village, Illinois, became the North American headquarters for sales, service, and support until the recent transition to Absolute Haitian.
