Sertec Group Invests £7 Million in New Production Press, Creating Jobs

Sertec Group, a leading global automotive components manufacturer, has committed £7 million to enhance its production capabilities and expand its workforce. The investment includes the installation of a state-of-the-art 800-tonne machine press at its Coleshill facility, a move that is expected to create 15 new jobs upon full implementation.

The press, which began installation in the summer of 2023, was delivered to the site in 14 separate shipments. A team of 160 contractors dedicated over 16,000 hours to ensure the machinery was ready for operation by December 2024.

Grant Adams, CEO of Sertec Group, described the press as a “game changer,” emphasizing its potential to significantly improve production across various sectors. “With our partner Nidec Arisa, we’ve integrated advanced automation features that allow for more efficient coil and tool changes, resulting in faster changeover times and increased flexibility in production,” Adams said.

This installation is part of a broader investment strategy aimed at enhancing Sertec’s manufacturing process. The company reports that these improvements are already delivering the anticipated benefits, including increased job creation, enhanced production capacity, and improved operational efficiency.

Adams concluded, “Our goal is to leverage this success to drive stability and long-term growth, ensuring a sustainable future for Sertec and its stakeholders.”
