China Central Longhao Airlines, operating as Air Central, has selected StandardAero for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) support of its CFM International CFM56-7B engines, which power the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737-800BCF freighters.
The collaboration began in earnest last month with the induction of the first CFM56-7B engine for a performance restoration shop visit at StandardAero’s facility in Winnipeg, Canada. As a CFM-authorized provider of CFM56-7B MRO services, StandardAero operates full-service overhaul centers in both Winnipeg and at DFW-Fort Worth International Airport in the United States.
In addition to comprehensive MRO services, StandardAero offers a wide range of support for the CFM56 engine family, including component repairs via its Component Repair Services division, asset management through PTS Aviation, and engine health monitoring data analysis.
This agreement marks a milestone as the first time a Chinese airline has introduced CFM56-7B engine maintenance services through StandardAero. The partnership is expected to significantly enhance Air Central’s operational efficiency and fleet safety. Yi Yunyuan, Chief Engineer at China Central Longhao Airlines, expressed optimism, stating that the collaboration will support the airline’s long-term growth and fleet performance.
For StandardAero, the deal further solidifies its presence in the Chinese aviation market, where over 2,600 CFM56-7B engines are currently in operation. With a long-standing history of servicing Chinese operators, StandardAero has expanded its capabilities to include newer engine types like the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B, following CAAC maintenance approval.
Headquartered in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, Air Central operates a diverse fleet of cargo aircraft, including Boeing 737, Boeing 747, and COMAC C909 freighters, serving both domestic and international routes. Founded in 2017, the airline is a subsidiary of the Henan Civil Aviation Development & Investment Group.
