EPIGAP OSA Photonics Unveils High-Power UV LEDs for Medical and Security

by Annie

EPIGAP OSA Photonics GmbH, based in Berlin, has launched a new range of high-power ultraviolet (UV) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in surface-mount packages, designed for applications in sensors, disinfection, and medical sensing.

The latest UV LEDs from the company operate within the 225 to 410 nanometer range, with incremental wavelength steps from 5 to 25 nanometers. Notably, the two newest devices in the series emit light at 225 nanometers and 230 nanometers.

One of the standout products, the OCU-490-20 UE365-XG high-power UV LED, is tailored for advanced medical and security applications. Operating at a wavelength of 365 nanometers, this LED delivers a high intensity of 450 milliwatts per steradian (mW/sr). Its precision glass lens and 20-degree viewing angle ensure optimal light delivery, making it ideal for critical UV sensing tasks.

EPIGAP OSA’s High-Power SMD UV LED series is designed for a range of applications, including disinfection, counterfeit detection, security, UV curing, and medical sensing.
