Titan International Unveils Larger Goodyear R14T Tires for Sprayers and Combines

by Annie

Titan International showcased new, larger sizes of its Goodyear R14T tires at the National Farm Machinery Show, expanding their application to sprayers and combines.

The R14T tread design is a hybrid of R1 and R4 patterns and has been used in smaller compact utility tires for several years. Now, the expanded sizes offer greater versatility and performance benefits for larger agricultural machinery.

“The unique thing about the R14 is its lug void ratio, which enhances road performance—crucial for self-propelled sprayers,” said Scott Sloan, Titan’s global ag and LSW product manager. “It also improves traction on hilly terrain by breaking up the solid bar, creating more biting edges to prevent drifting or sliding.”

Key Advantages of the Larger R14T Tires

According to Titan International, the expanded tire sizes provide several significant benefits for sprayers and combines:

Lower Rolling Resistance: Reduces fuel consumption.

Smoother Road Travel: A high lug void ratio in the center minimizes vibration and enhances ride comfort, while also limiting ground disturbance in the field.

Improved Cleanout: Wider spacing between shoulder lugs helps shed debris more effectively.

Enhanced Stability & Traction: Superior hillside grip aids in maneuverability, particularly during harvest operations.

“When compared to an R4, the Goodyear R14T delivers 15–20% less rolling resistance,” said Mark Rankin, Titan’s director of business development. “This is a game-changer for farmers using sprayers and combines.”

The full line of Goodyear R14T tires is now available at Goodyear dealers nationwide.
