Aerospace engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider StandardAero has been appointed by China Central Longhao Airlines, operating as Air Central, to deliver CFM56-7B engine services for its Boeing 737-800BCF freighter fleet.
StandardAero’s Winnipeg, Canada, facility began work last month on the first CFM56-7B engine from Air Central, performing a performance restoration shop visit (PRSV).
Yi Yunyuan, Chief Engineer at China Central Longhao Airlines, expressed enthusiasm over the partnership: “We are pleased to reach this cooperation with StandardAero, becoming the first Chinese customer to introduce CFM56-7B engine maintenance services. StandardAero’s professional expertise and extensive global service network will provide strong support, enhancing the operational efficiency and safety of our fleet. This collaboration lays a solid foundation for our airline’s future development.”
Will Pitcher, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customers at StandardAero, added: “China represents more than 20% of the global CFM56-7B fleet, with over 2,600 engines in service. Based in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China Central Longhao Airlines operates a fleet of Boeing 737, Boeing 747, and COMAC C909 freighters. Originally founded as Guangdong Longhao Airlines, Air Central has been in operation since 2017 and is now a subsidiary of Henan Civil Aviation Development & Investment Group.
