Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich recently highlighted the outcomes of a government delegation’s working visit to Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast in an interview with Belarus 1 TV Channel, as reported by BelTA.
The Belarusian delegation toured several industrial enterprises in Novosibirsk Oblast that are of potential interest to Belarusian economic entities. Karankevich noted that discussions focused on key sectors such as oil refining and production, with potential avenues for collaboration between Belarus’s Belneftekhim Concern and local Russian enterprises. The deputy prime minister also emphasized that machine-tool manufacturing emerged as another crucial topic for developing deeper cooperation. Additionally, the delegation visited a plant that produces high-quality spindles, comparable to leading global counterparts.
Karankevich further revealed that the visit also involved discussions on the involvement of Belarusian specialists in the design of new stations for the Dzerzhinskaya metro line in Novosibirsk. He confirmed that the first stage of the project had already been completed, with a Belarusian company participating in the design process. “We are certainly interested in contributing to the construction of these metro stations, leveraging our accumulated expertise and capabilities,” Karankevich said, describing this collaboration as a promising long-term opportunity for both countries.
During the visit, a new Belarusian Machines multi-brand center was inaugurated in the Russian region. In addition, Belarus plans to start supplying quarry machinery to Novosibirsk Oblast later this year, marking another significant step in enhancing bilateral economic ties.
