WFL to Showcase M30 MILLTURN at CIMT 2025

by Annie

WFL (Austria) will present its M30 MILLTURN, dubbed “The little one for everything,” at the CIMT show in Beijing from April 21–26, 2025. This advanced multifunctional turning-boring-milling center is designed for complete machining of complex shafts and chuck parts, combining various machining capabilities in one compact system.

The M30 MILLTURN is engineered to handle increasingly complex machining tasks, incorporating technologies such as gear teeth production, measuring tasks, and finish machining. With a swing of up to 520mm and machining lengths of up to 2000mm, it functions as a lathe, a 5-axis machining center, and can even serve as a gear-cutting or deep-hole drilling machine, making it ideal for a variety of industrial applications.

WFL’s core philosophy is to streamline the machining process by reducing clamping operations, thus minimizing the risk of errors and improving overall process quality. Their focus extends beyond just the machining itself, addressing the entire process, including workpiece programming, simulation, production, and machine lifecycle support.

To improve process quality, WFL integrates automatic measuring solutions that allow precise monitoring. These measurement readings are captured and stored in the WFL Process Monitoring software, ensuring traceability, particularly crucial for industries like aerospace.

One of the standout features of the M30 MILLTURN is its ability to reduce the need for multiple machines. By consolidating several machining functions into a single machine, the M30 simplifies production planning and reduces complexity. A large tool magazine also enhances efficiency by enabling quick changeovers, while the machine’s rigidity allows for the effective machining of exotic alloys.

The M30 MILLTURN’s design places a strong emphasis on reliability and ease of use. Its large windows provide optimal visibility of the work area, and the machine offers user-friendly access to the tool magazine via a front sliding window. The NC drive for the steady rest slide ensures robust performance, while the machine base facilitates quick setup and repositioning. Integrated LED lighting within the working area adds to the machine’s user-friendly design.

In addition to hardware, WFL will showcase its myWFL Cockpit software at the show. This software provides real-time operational data acquisition, displaying machine states, productivity, and technical availability on a control panel, PC, or mobile device. The myWFL Energy feature tracks energy and compressed air consumption per workpiece, and the Condition Monitoring Cycle continuously monitors the health of machine components, making it easy to detect issues.

For added convenience, the M30 MILLTURN is equipped with the myWFL Health Check tool, which semi-automatically checks machine geometry. This feature, which is retrofittable on all WFL machines, enables users to perform quick diagnostics, identifying long-term trends and improving machine uptime.

The M30 MILLTURN is a versatile, efficient, and user-friendly solution, designed to meet the evolving needs of modern manufacturing while offering exceptional value.
