Iran has made notable advancements in the livestock and poultry sector while securing a strong global position in the production of medicines and vaccines for the industry, according to Nouri Ghezeljeh. Speaking at a meeting, he emphasized Iran’s readiness to collaborate with IOFS (Islamic Organization for Food Security) members in areas such as research, plant improvement, conservation, and livestock breeding.
“We also possess the capability to manufacture agricultural machinery, including tractors and other essential equipment,” Ghezeljeh added.
Arin, another key participant, highlighted Iran’s leadership in advanced agricultural technologies and sustainable development, stating that many Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) members could benefit from Iran’s expertise. He noted existing agreements on training programs, which could serve as a structured opportunity to share Iranian knowledge and innovation with other nations.
Meanwhile, Iran’s agricultural machinery sector has seen a 10% growth in both production and exports, according to Abouzar Jamshidvand, Director General of the Agricultural, Construction, and Mining Machinery Department at the Ministry of Agriculture.
“In the first seven months of this year, over 21,000 tractors of various types were produced, compared to 19,000 units in the same period last year, marking a 10% increase,” Jamshidvand stated.
Similarly, combine harvester production rose by 10%, with output reaching 430 units compared to 395 in the same period last year. The rise in tractor and harvester manufacturing has also fueled a nearly 10% increase in agricultural machinery exports, reinforcing Iran’s expanding influence in the sector.
