Hyliion Enhances Production with First M Line Additive Manufacturing System

by Annie

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Hyliion Holdings Corp. (NYSE American: HYLN), a leader in sustainable electricity-generating technology, has received its first M Line additive manufacturing system from Colibrium Additive, a GE Aerospace company. This delivery, marking the debut of the M Line system in the U.S., will support the production of Hyliion’s innovative KARNO™ generator. The company has placed orders for additional M Line units, with further deliveries scheduled throughout 2025.

The adoption of this cutting-edge M Line system significantly boosts Hyliion’s production capabilities, allowing for the manufacturing of two to four times more parts per machine compared to its existing printers. The advanced technology will be crucial for producing the complex components of the KARNO generator, which relies on additive manufacturing to achieve the intricate geometries required for optimal performance.

Chris Schuppe, CTO of Colibrium Additive, expressed pride in supporting Hyliion’s efforts, noting that the M Line’s modular design, which separates laser processing and material handling systems, enhances efficiency and production speed. This design is perfectly suited to the needs of KARNO generator production, offering a streamlined approach to manufacturing the generator’s critical parts.

Hyliion’s KARNO generator is designed to generate electricity efficiently from over 20 different fuel sources, delivering both AC and DC power with high efficiency and low emissions compared to traditional generators. This innovation represents a significant step forward in clean, low-emission energy generation.

Thomas Healy, Founder and CEO of Hyliion, highlighted the importance of the M Line system in scaling the company’s production to meet the increasing demand for KARNO generators in 2025 and beyond. “This state-of-the-art technology enhances our production capacity and brings us closer to delivering the future of sustainable energy,” Healy said.
